Treatment

  • What is Remedial Massage?

When muscles become knotted and tense or damaged, remedial massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Remedial massage holistically treats the body. The massage therapist endeavours to identify the original biomechanical dysfunction, thus healing the cause of the disorder, as well as the symptoms.

Remedial massage uses several specialized techniques to locate and repair damage to muscles, tendons and joints. Massage therapy supports and speeds up the body’s own repair mechanisms. A lubricating medium (usually oil) is applied directly on the skin. This ensures that the muscles associated with the disorder are deeply penetrated. Passive joint stretching moves are also used.

  • Key Benefits of Remedial Massage

Key benefits of remedial massage include the stimulation to the blood supply allowing toxins in the muscles to be removed; the calming of the peripheral nervous system to ease pain and discomfort; and the toning and relaxing muscles to improve joint mobility. An improvement to the health of the cells, the repairing of tissues, and the easing of stiffness and tension can also be experienced through therapeutic relaxation. Muscular and skeletal dysfunctions often addressed with remedial massage include muscle tightness and pain, arthritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, whiplash, neck and back pain, scoliosis, headaches and sports injuries.

Frequently Ask Questions (FAQ)

Below are frequently asked questions regarding our treatment.

Hello PHRM, what is the difference between Remedial Massage and Express Relaxing Massage?

Broadly speaking, Remedial Massage (RM) is a special treatment for handling injuries or pain in certain muscle parts. Meanwhile, Express Relaxing Massage (ERM) is a one-body comprehensive treatment for non-injury.

How many treatments do I usually need for my complaint?

In PHRM there is no provision for how many treatments, based on statistical data, 30-80% progress can be felt in one treatment if the problem is due to muscles. In some cases there are even 100%, all return to the character of the muscles and complaints of each patient and also the movement patterns that are carried out on a daily basis.

Are there any certain restriction after treatment?

There are no restrictions both before and after treatment. We only recommend avoiding strenuous activity in the injured muscle area and has just been treated for at least 3-7 days. Do light stretching that is taught by each therapist to strengthen muscles and prevent further injury

Can I wear trousers? Do you need to bring a change of clothes?

There is no requirement to wear any pants or clothes. We can treat all types of clothing because the massage we offer does not open clothes and does not use oil. For women, we recommend not wearing skirts so as not to hinder some of our treatment movements.

Hello PHRM, for complaints of pinched nerves can be handled here?

Have you ever had an MRI/X-ray done for a pinched nerve? Because a pinched nerve can only be stated by the results of an MRI / X-ray.

If yes, then we can handle complaints caused by the pinched nerve, for example, pain in the waist area, tingling in the legs or other complaints that are most likely still caused by muscle spasms. For the pinched nerve itself, we can't handle it because the pinched nerve is a problematic bone cushion due to the problematic shape of the spine.

I have unequal leg lengths. Can it be fixed here?

PHRM specializes in muscle repair. We did not make improvements to postural or bone adjustments. However, if there are complaints caused by the postural, such as pain in the waist area or soreness in the legs, we can handle them.

Because to make postural improvements by means of bone adjustments, it takes sufficient medical knowledge and also a clear license so that the treatment given is safe for all parties.
